Finished reading: The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien ๐
Started this one off on audiobook then switched to physical near the end. I wish I had just stuck with physical the whole way through. I didnโt retain much of what happened at the beginning ๐ซค
Finished reading: The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien ๐
So thatโs why itโs called the Two Towers! ๐
Finished reading: The Stand by Stephen King ๐
I loved this book but itโs hard to recommend such a tome. Iโm being derivative and doing the book an injustice, but if you want Stephen Kingโs take on a modern day Lord of the Rings - this is that book. The characters are memorable and human (well, most of them).
Finished reading: The Fellowship Of The Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien ๐
Now I know why people get obsessed with this series/world. The setting is so well planned and developed. Little morsels of an ancient time. Also a good adventure story that involves an interesting hike.
Finished reading: The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton ๐๐ฅ
Another interesting spin on the whodunnit genre. This one was a little convoluted at times but the bookโs main โmechanicโ gave a new way to tell these types of stories.
Finished reading: The 6:20 Man by David Baldacci ๐๐ฅ
Read this for book club and we all concluded this was a book you pick up at the airport; itโs entertaining but doesnโt leave an impression. The author clearly had a series in mind and left a lot of questions unanswered. The protagonist basically said โAw shucks! Weโll get โem next time!โ at the end.
Finished reading: This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar ๐๐ฅ
Sci-fi love story presented as poetry. Difficult but rewarding read.
Finished reading: Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz ๐๐ฅ
Finished at the beginning of the year. Modern take on classic whodunnits. Loved it!
